Agents as a service: what it means for carriers

Agents as a service means buying finished work from AI agents instead of buying software seats for your staff to operate. It is also written AaaS or GaaS. For a carrier, the unit becomes the job done, such as a load built or an invoice ready to send.

Software seats and finished work

With seat-based software, you pay for access and your team does the work inside it. With agents as a service, the agent does the work and your team reviews the result. The label is new and used loosely, so ask any vendor exactly what you are paying for.

What changes in a trucking office

  • Staff spend less time keying documents and more time reviewing and handling exceptions.
  • Paperwork can be sent the way it already arrives: a forwarded email, a file or a phone photo.
  • Approval becomes the main step for a person, so it has to be quick and clear.

What to check before you buy

  • Approval. Can anything reach a customer, a driver or the border without a person signing off?
  • Exceptions. How does the agent report a missing or unclear document?
  • Records. Can you see what the agent did on each job?
  • Pricing. Is the price tied to finished work, and what counts as finished?

How BaniTMS fits

BaniTMS is being built this way: agents for the trucking back office, with you approving the result. It is still in development and pricing is not set. Join the list and tell us which job you would hand off first.
